A brief history of twosevenone

(271) twosevenone first appeared online in the spring of 2003, back when I was an aspiring and eager product designer. The first version (soon available for viewing) was originally intended to be my online portfolio which, I hoped, would help me land a job in Milan, Italy. Unfortunately, my timing couldn't have been worse, as I showed up in Milan in the spring on 2003 at a time when the economy was stagnant. Horror stories abounded of people I'd studied with in 1997 at the Istituto Europeo di Design in 1997 were still surviving on meager jobs for even more pathetic pay.

But everything, it seems, happens for a reason, as I came back to Montreal intent on never being subjected to the whims of the economy. I'd been mulling the idea of doing an MBA for a while, but this event was the catalyst. I started getting serious about it, and now find myself a 2006 graduate of the University of Notre Dame's MBA program. I am now a strategy consultant for IBB Consulting Group in Philadelphia, PA, and this website has now been repurposed as an online repository of sorts for the various interests, thoughts and ideas that I have. Not that I think any of the contents will be necessarily interesting or revelatory for anyone, but it helps me get ideas out, which is essential when you're as obsessively curious and reflexive as I am.

Why "twosevenone"?

There's actually a (somewhat corny) reason why I chose this odd name as my URL, and you can read it here. Before you click to find out, however, know this: whatever reason you're imagining for these numbers is probably more interesting than the one you're about to read, so you may want to stop here.
