Media, technology and convergence

A constant interest of mine, which dates back the first days of peer-to-peer filesharing, the impending convergence of digital media, internet and television is cause for much chatter. This section is a collection of some of the thoughts on the matter, as well as potential avenues for future exploration.more >>

A follow-up to a blog that was started in the spring of 2006 for Prof. John Sherry's "Culture, Consumption and Marketing" class. This section will feature general observation of society and consumption, and hopefully will provide some insights that can be applied to other research areas.more >>

Social capital in virtual communities

Another research area that was kickstarted by some work done at Notre Dame. This section explores the dynamics of the social networks that are established in communities that are either partly or wholly mediated by technological platforms (internet, mobile or otherwise). As this section develops, I hope to include reflections on emerging forms of social capital in online communities, as well as links to interesting articles on the topic.more >>
