Though I'm now plying my trade as a consultant in the telecommunications industry, my background is in product design, a field in which I worked for 5 years before going to business school. The sections below represent my portfolio, of sorts, as well as some ongoing interests.
Web design
(271) twosevenone actually started as my online portfolio; my first foray into web design after designing Plasticase's first two websites. Then, twosevenone became a one-man web design consultancy, with a few loyal clients. And in its current incarnation, it is a solo project, the online repository of my accumulated experience and thoughts. Web design is a passion of mine, but not necessarily because I enjoy the process. I'm far too meticulous and obsessed with detail to actually enjoy the minutia of web design. What I like are the unlimited possibilities the web offers, especially what has now come to be called "the Web 2.0". And as much as I hate the fact that I'm such a pedant for details, I actually enjoy learning new techniques. This section contains some examples of websites I've developed.more >>
Product design
I graduated from the University of Montreal's School of Industrial Design in 1998. As soon as I graduated, I went to work for a small firm in Milan, Italy, called Gruppointerfiere which specialized in designing booths for trade shows. As soon as I got back, I took a job with Plasticase, a small manufacturing firm based in Montreal. This section contains some of the work I did at Plasticase over my five-year tenure as sole designer.more >>
HSS: HyperSonic Sound
My fourth-year industrial design thesis was and remains a tantalizing technological breakthrough. In association with American Technology Corporation, I developed a home application for a new sound reproduction technology involving the interaction of ultrasonic sound signals. This section explains the science behind the innovation, and contains images of my final project.more >>
